About
IN MY SHOES is a project by The Skill Engineer’s media team, Skilled Creative and has been proudly funded by Multicultural NSW’s COMPACT program.
IN MY SHOES is a digital storytelling platform series of short films, reels and podcast episodes produced by culturally diverse young people from the Central Coast NSW, telling stories of resilience, hope and positive social change in our community.
· Young people are included in the media production of their own story as they work with Skilled Creative media mentors from ideation to post-production
· Skilled Creative’s DIGIVAN will visit schools, local community events and tertiary education providers to mentor culturally diverse students through the production process and help develop their personal stories for film, podcast and blog publications
· Participants will be young people between the ages of 12-30 and will be identified through our regional partners including, Mosaic, Central Coast Community Council, Uniting, GARAWA, Gosford High School, St Joseph’s Catholic College, Lake Munmorah High School, St Peters Catholic College, and Central Coast Sports College.
· We engage with local professional videographers and producers to prepare content for publication to our Digital Platform inmyshoes.blog and social media pages
· A Multicultural Short Film Festival will be held at Avoca Beach Picture Theatre in November 2025 and another at the end of 2026 to celebrate the creative storytellers and champion diversity and inclusion across the Central Coast
